Our green future.
As an organization, we have been able to make our sustainable business practices concrete. We are strengthening our position as a knowledge partner by offering various sustainability ambitions .
We want to continue to offer the right knowledge and strive for a sustainable world for future generations. In addition, we want to set an example with our own operations and share our ambitions and experiences with organizations with a similar mindset.
Our three pillars:

															Transition to a sustainable organization
The transition to a fully sustainable organization takes time, but is something that we as an organization want to invest in and learn from. To concretize our ambitions, in 2022 we started a project with PHI Factory. PHI Factory supports organizations to accelerate to sustainable operations by achieving ambitious sustainable and circular goals.
Together with PHI Factory, we have our ambitions, a plan of action and a roadmap drawn up to increase our knowledge internally in the coming years. In this way, we want to strengthen the role of knowledge partner even better and motivate organizations to make more sustainable choices.
Our sustainable approach
Our sustainable approach
Sustainability has a broad definition for us and we have three main key themes that we focus on as an organization: Wellbeing, Circularity and CO2. We have also linked these to five Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), as defined by the United Nations.
1. Increase well-being
Practise what you preach: we value welfare and work happiness internally. For example, our own office is WELL accredited. This means that our work environment meets vitality standards, the WELL principles. Think good air quality, filtered water, healthy food, natural light, vitality and comfort in and around the workplace. Our office has, among other things, an in-house sports facility. We also give importance to mental health of our colleagues. Our office has a biophilic design for stress reduction and a better connection with nature.
Interior Works has a certified WELL AP (Accredited Professional) in training for consulting in increasing wellness.

															SDG 3
Good health and well-being
We point our clients to the latest ergonomic developments in workplace design. In addition, we have an advisory role in the design of workspaces in which work happiness, health in a circular interior, are central.

															SDG 8
Fair work and economic growth
In addition to encouraging growth, we promote valuable work, entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation. This while promoting the protection of labor rights and a safe and healthy working environment.
2. Encourage circularity
Our team is up to date on the latest developments concerning sustainable initiatives, renewable resources and certificates and labels. We follow knowledge sessions and trainings with our suppliers and independent bodies. We also organize our own knowledge sessions to share knowledge.
Behind the scenes, we update our circularity matrix ongoing, in this we make materials passports/EPDs (environmental product declaration) transparent of the sustainable products we recommend. We are also experimenting with circular business models such as take-back guarantees.

															SDG 12
Responsible consumption and production
We contribute to the circular use of existing materials according to our circular design principle. We challenge our clients and toe-suppliers to share our philosophy and keep thinking along with us.
3. Reduce CO2 emissions
With our internal operations, we strive as much as possible to reduce our direct CO2 emissions. We do this by focusing on energy conservation and sustainable mobility. Since 2020, we have been housed in the Amsterdam-North's first energy-neutral building with showroom, office and warehouse functions. The property has over 600 solar panels and a biomass boiler into which we process our own residual electricity and that of surrounding businesses. Also, ourfleet is 60% electric or hybrid.

															SDG 7
Affordable and sustainable energy
We are housed in an energy-neutral office. We process our own residual electricity in the biomass boiler and over 600 solar panels provide all the power for the energy-efficient installations in the building.

															SDG 13
Climate Action
A key ambition is to take action for the world of tomorrow. We have our sustainability ambitions roadmap to contribute to this SDG.
