Municipality of Den Helder has a new "House of the City. The Willemsoord Naval Dockyard has been given a major makeover for the realization of Den Helder's new Town Hall. The naval dockyard has a special place in the heart of the municipality and brings with it history and culture. The buildings date from 1826 and 1949 and carry the soul of the naval dockyard. To make the buildings more sustainable, it was decided to use low-energy installation technology, insulating Monuglas and PV panels. The new town hall is the start of further development of Willemsoord.

Building 66 & 72

City Hall is realized in two old warehouses in this characteristic part of the city. Warehouse and national monument 'building 66' formerly served as a mast shed and now serves as a space for the public. Think of the public counters, the wedding hall, the meeting center, meeting rooms and the impressive council chamber. In addition to the public spaces, municipal officials also need a place to work. The new offices are located in the characteristic warehouse "Building 72. This former sail-making factory has retained its concrete structural components and brick walls, in addition the new central void creates daylight the workplaces. This void forms the heart of the building and emphasizes its public character.

Realization

The community should be proud of its new City Hall. Building 66 in particular is considered a showpiece of the Navy Yard. This building is used for many different users with different purposes. For example, the entrance, meeting center and counters have a welcoming and peaceful ambiance and the wedding hall has a warm and festive feel due to its red/pink interior. The Rely chairs from &Tradition and bench for the bride and groom of Arco fit perfectly. In the council chamber, one might expect just the opposite, the dark blue color along with the Sola council chamber chairs of Wilkhahn and chairs of Castelli create a generous and stately atmosphere. This is a space where people meet for hours - if not days. Seating comfort is therefore enormously important. With Wilkhahn's chairs, that 'sits' well.

When you step into Building 72 you find yourself in open space with a welcoming feel. The seating and workspaces are well suited for catching up with a colleague or informal meetings on the Side-by-Side sofa of Arco or at the table. The Poltrona Hera chairs from Pedrali can be seen in both buildings in different designs. The interior design of the workstations is inspired by the exterior of this old sailmaker's shop. The bordeaux red color of exterior walls can be seen in the office chairs of Be By Beta And the partitions at the workstations?

Realization

Life Extension

Furthermore, sustainability plays a major role in the policy of the Municipality of Den Helder and some of the workstations have been reused. For example, some desk tops have been replaced and a number of office chairs and chairs in the work cafe have only been reupholstered.

In this project we again supplied products from different brands. We work with these suppliers and our logistics partners to see how we can deliver the products in the most efficient and environmentally conscious way. The good relationships with our suppliers ensures this smooth logistical handling and project management.
