Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR) is a leading international research university. It is known as the university of thinkers and doers: a place where ambitious students and researchers are challenged to further develop their talents and make an impact on society.
The Polak Building, designed by Paul de Ruiter Architects, has been carefully designed to combine interaction and concentration. Upon entering, you immediately enter the atrium, a bright and open space that invites you to meet, discuss and exchange knowledge. On the higher floors, quiet concentration workstations have been created, ideal for individual study. The use of natural materials, lots of wood and warm colors such as orange-red, orange and yellow, gives the building a warm and pure appearance.
A wide range of furniture was used for the various work and study workstations. For example, 1,600 study workstations were furnished with Vepa Vpax agencies and various HAY-office chairs from the 'About A'-collection, including the AAC 12, AAC 10 and AAC 15 chairs, as well as the AAS 38 bar stools. These spots are so popular that there are sometimes more than 2,000 students working at the same time, underscoring the comfort and functionality of the workstations.
