Maarten Baas

Maarten Baas is one of the most influential Dutch designers of our time. Maarten Baas explores the boundaries between art and design with his work that is best known for its rebellious, playful, theatrical, artistic and often intellectual slant.

Story

Maarten Baas and Hans Lensvelt collaborated to develop a collection of chairs with irregularly shaped backs. Through a clever technical application, the chairs each seem to have their own character and resemble a face. The collection was presented in Milan under the name "May I have your attention, please" and won the prestigious Milano Design Award, Best Concept 2017 at the Salone del Mobile.
