The Vitra Tip Ton RE is proof that sustainability and strong design need not be mutually exclusive. Designed by British duo Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby, this chair is made entirely of recycled post-consumer plastic - sourced from collected household packaging waste that is turned into a high-quality raw material.

Because seat, back and base are all made of the same material - recycled polypropylene - the chair is fully recyclable at the end of its life. This makes the Tip Ton RE a truly circular choice, which fits within a conscious purchasing policy for office, school or public space. Production is also remarkably efficient: the chair is molded as a single unit, with no mechanical parts or complex assembly steps, which minimizes material waste during manufacturing.

In practice, this translates into a chair that is robust, low-maintenance and extremely long-lived. Thanks to its smart stackability - up to 11 chairs on a stacking cart - it is economical to transport and store, which also reduces the logistical footprint.
